Wolfenstein 3d – Atari Jaguar – Let’s Play and Review
Wolfenstein 3d is a FPS video game developed by id Software, and is the 3rd installment in the Wolfenstein franchise. You play the role of Allied spy William “B.J.” Blazkowicz in World War II, and have to escape prison Castle Wolfenstein and complete 6 missions against the Nazis. The Atari Jaguar version was released in 1994.
This is a really good conversion of the PC game, it runs really fast and smooth, and although the graphics are not amazing, this helps keep the frame-rate up nice and high and gives you a rewarding playing experience. Recommended!

Cannon Fodder – Atari Jaguar – Let’s Play and Review
Cannon Fodder on the Atari Jaguar – a great game on all the systems that have a mouse available, but having recently played this on a SNES without the mouse controller, I already knew that this was going to be a pain to control and therefore making an already very hard game on the Amiga with a mouse, even harder.
It’s a great conversion, the graphics and sound are spot on – I even think that they’ve upgraded some of the death screams from the enemy soldiers! I wish that they’d mapped the grenade/rocket to a separate button though, as I was having trouble with firing them – but maybe that’s just me being crap.

Growl – Mega Drive / Genesis – Let’s Play and Review
This is Growl on the Mega Drive which is a conversion of the 1991 arcade game of the same name by Taito. It’s a pretty good conversion, although the graphics are a bit shoddy. It’s also rather easy – this was my first play through, and I was very close to completing the whole game!
Equipment:
- Mega Drive v1 modded to play 60Hz
- Mega Everdrive x7
- 8BitD0 M30

Championship Manager 01/02 – PC – Let’s Play
I decided to play as Stenhousemuir in the Scottish second division and see if I can get them promotion, and then who knows? Championship Manager 01/02 (aka CM 01/02) was a much loved game back in the early 2000s, produced by Sports Interactive who went on to make the uber successful Football Manager series.
If you want to download this game, and play the speeded up patched version like I am playing here, then check out the amazing ChampMan0102 website:

Operation Wolf – Amiga – Full Game, Bad Ending!
This is a great conversion of the classic coin-op Operation Wolf on the Amiga.
I cheated on this play through, just so I could record all the way to the ending. Sadly, I didn’t realise what I had to do with the hostages, so I think they all died, or didn’t get on the plane or something, so the US President was rather angry with me! They do say that cheats never prosper I suppose…

The Firemen – SNES – Let’s Play and Review
The Firemen on Super Nintendo is considered by many people as a “hidden gem” on the 90s system due to it only being released in Europe, Japan, and Australia – it never made it to North America for some reason. It was released in Japan on September 1994, and then in May 1995 in Europe.
It was fairly highly reviewed at the time, but was criticised for it’s short length, and when you consider that SNES games used to cost £40+ (which is expensive now, let alone in 1995), this was a big factor when choosing a game to buy.
It’s a great game, and I enjoyed playing it. I will definitely return to it one day in the future to try and complete it. The shortness of the game actually appeals to me now as I’m a busy old man, and so a game being quick to play and complete is now a good thing!

Pushover – SNES – Let’s Play and Review
Pushover is a platform puzzle game that was released by Ocean in 1992 for the SNES, Amiga, Atari ST, and PC. The game was a tie in with UK cheesy, curly, crisps Quavers, back in the 90s when snacks seemed to randomly have cartoon mascots?! Colin Curly (some Quaver eating bulldog I think) loses his pack of Quavers in a giant ant hill, and it’s down to a massive ant called G.I.Ant (lovely pun) for some reason to retrieve them. Why this involves pushing over yellow blocks is anyone’s guess, but who really needs a coherent plot anyway?
There are 100 levels, each getting more and more complex and difficult. I was struggling on levels under 10, so God knows what I’ve be like in the 90-100 levels! Maybe I’m just crap!

Pang – Amiga – Let’s Play
This is a great port of the excellent arcade game Pang to the Amiga. Some ports on home computers in the 80s and 90s were very lazy (see my Shinobi and Chase HQ reviews), but this one certainly wasn’t. It’s excellent.

Cannon Soccer – Amiga – Let’s Play
Cannon Soccer was on a demo disk with issue 54 of Amiga Format in Christmas 1993. It’s a mash up of two Sensible Software classics Cannon Fodder and Sensible Soccer. It’s two levels, and they’re pretty hard (for me anyway!). Great fun though!

Chase HQ – Amiga – Let’s Play
Wow – this is such a crappy conversion of Chase HQ on the Amiga. It could do SO much better than this. After playing the excellent ZX Spectrum port, I was expecting similar on the Amiga, but this is woefully sub par. It’s so sluggish with no real sense of speed. The graphics and sound are horrible. Avoid!
